- FJA are partnering with a leading UK consultancy who specialise in the water Industry. Operating across the various water sectors they have developed an excellent client base with a strong and recognised brand. We are currently supporting them in the recruitment for a Contract Manager.
The role is based in the North West with some travel to sites across the UK and Ireland. Regarded by many as an employer of choice, the business can offer ongoing training in a supportive team oriented working environment.
The Contract Manager will work with a small team delivering the supply of wastewater treatment systems throughout the UK and Ireland.
The Contract Manager will coordinate service and maintenance jobs, including planning resources, liaising with clients, organising materials/equipment, issuing documents before and after jobs. Also, provide first line technical support assistance to customers.
The successful candidate will possess a Water/Wastewater or Manufacturing background.
The Job:
- To manage contract from point of sales handover through to completion and review.
- Will be required to run the jobs to programme and maintain budget whenever possible, coordinate procurement of equipment and provide up to date budget costings.
- Liaising with and coordinating all parties and resources, including clients, suppliers, and external contractors.
- Generating all relevant contract documentation in line with company processes.
- Where appropriate, visiting sites for customer meetings, project planning and finalising completion.
- Participate in handover meetings to gain a clear understanding of the initial arrangements on a contract.
- Agree and carry out relevant initial communications with customers.
- Liaise with customers, employees, management, external suppliers/contractors and other parties to organise the contract.
- Procure equipment and services in line with company procedures and considering project cost estimates.
- Liaise closely with operations manager and supervisors in the planning of works.
- Work closely with site supervisors to generate an effective installation programme which meets the needs of the contract.
- Highlight areas of technical/quality focus for the site installation team, to avoid issues that could lead to delays and quality costs.
- Ensure materials and equipment are arranged to allow effective starting of installation work.
- Identify potential ongoing risks to the programme and arrange mitigation as far ahead as possible.
- Liaise closely with the site team to ensure that all quality control checks are fulfilled as required.
- Contribute to operational improvements and efforts to improve cost and delivery efficiency.
- Possess good attention to detail and build excellent relationships with the end client.
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety policies and procedures, including maintenance and use of PPE
