- This well known regional contractor has had a long and established history in the North West. Due to growth, they are looking to recruit and experience a Management Accountant to join their Finance Team.
Job Summary
To work alongside the Finance Manager to assist in the production of the monthly management accounts for the group companies and to provide analysis of the results for the Board and other stakeholders.
The role will assist with the smooth running of the finance team and will facilitate an ongoing improvement of the accounts timetable.
Day to day responsibilities as Management Accountant:
- Assist in financial reporting from initial cost queries, production of monthly cost reports, exception reports and management reports which are distributed to the Board and senior management as required. Costs allocated on an activity-based time apportionment costing system
- Management of inter-company transactions & recharges across a multi-company format
- Assistance with the production of monthly overhead reports and variance analysis on indirect cost centres
- Preparation of monthly financial statements to include P&L, balance sheet, inter-company schedule and key control accounts per the accounting timetable
- Support the Finance Manager with all supporting papers for key external reporting to HMRC for both PAYE, CIS and VAT returns on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
- Assistance with the annual finance audit to include supporting working papers produced in conjunction with the Finance Manager and Finance Director
- Assist the Finance Director with the management of all insurance claims and management reporting
- Assist with ad-hoc project work such as fixed asset management, capex appraisals, external funding applications
- Assist with the setup of new accounting systems and provide support on systems development both at transactional and management level reporting
- Part CIMA / ACCA qualified
- Minimum 5 GCSE’s including Maths & English passes
- Strong Excel and Office 365 skills
- Experience within the construction industry would be desirable
- Experience working in a busy account’s environment
