- FJA are working on behalf of leading Utility Company who are recruiting for a Business Development Manager.
This is a great opportunity for a person with a technical background to develop their skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Reporting to the Sales Director and joining a growing team of Sales Managers and Sales Product Specialists, the Business Development Manager will help to evolve and deliver several key Leakage activities for our clients.
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for customer facing sales whilst managing and expanding business within designated accounts within mainly UK Water sector. Whilst this position is home-based, is a requirement for significant travel mainly across the UK and with regular overnight stays and occasional international travel may be necessary.
The Job:
Key Responsibilities- Managing and expanding business within your designated accounts
- Ownership of the sales target for hardware products and the associated services project and support work
- Understanding and maintaining regular contact throughout the sales cycles which usually have a relatively long duration
- Creating a business plan to develop a network of key customers and delivery partners within your territory and supporting them closely to develop pipeline and meet agreed sales targets
- Acting as a business partner and single point of contact throughout the sales process
- Collaborating closely in the development and management of growth strategies
- Managing the pipeline of opportunities, active engagement and maintenance of CRM
- Ownership of pursuits to sales close
- Leading on bids and proposals where appropriate and working with other internal stakeholders to produce compelling proposals
- Bringing operational support including technical advice, supporting of the preparation of commercial offers, sales support, customer support, etc.
- Establishing a unique relationship with your customers based on trust, mutual knowledge and professionalism
- Identification of potential new regions, partners and vertical markets areas for growth
- To work collaboratively with colleagues responsible for Software sales into common clients
- To work collaboratively with individual customers and to take a lead in developing integrated solutions
- Attend regular sales meetings and issue and contribute to monitoring reporting of sales performance Report any security event or area of concern or perceived weakness
- Complete relevant training material to ensure awareness of Information Security
- Be familiar with and demonstrate the application of Information Security, Quality and Environment policies
- Any ad hoc duties as required
- Report any security event or area of concern or perceived weakness
- Comply with all ISO27001, ISO9001, ISO14001 controls, policies and procedures.
Skills / Knowledge:
- Capable of understanding customer needs and translating this into product ideas and functional specifications.
- Able to work remotely, alone and in a team
- Able to prioritise work
- Logging background and ownership
- Open minded and Live the company values
- Must be commercially focussed with previous contract management skills
- Able to meet deadlines
- Personable and able to speak publicly at events
- Good presentation skills
