Description
FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading service provider in the water and waste water industry for an experienced Design Engineer (MEICA). This in an amazing opportunity for a highly-motivated individual to join their growing Water Engineering team. The role will be based out of the Birstall office.

As a Design Engineer you will be part of the Northern Area Engineering Team who are responsible for the design and commissioning of water related infrastructure. The successful candidate will be involved in the design and delivery of projects within the water sector across the North West and Wales

As the Design Engineer your duties & responsibilities will be:
  • Performing design activities associated with engineering projects (from investigation, design, commissioning and through to completion) in line with Client specifications, national standards and codes of practice.
  • Preparing and registering all relevant documentation, ensuring it is current, accurate and in compliance.
  • Working alongside other departments including commercial and operational.
  • Liaise with external agencies ensuring the investigation/design and construction phase runs smoothly
  • Liaise with internal departments, our supply chain and our clients to ensure schemes are designed using the most cost effective methods available
  • Creating reports/information to present to the Lead Designer, Design Manager and Project Managers including clients when requested.

Skills & Knowledge Requirements
  • Educated to A-Level / BTEC level 3 (minimum) or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • MEICA experience, preferably in the water industry
  • Understanding of WIMES
  • Understanding of telemetry systems
  • Experience in Instrumentation, Controls and Automation design and commissioning
  • Knowledge of CDM 2015
  • Knowledge of DSEAR Regulations
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and MS Office applications
