- FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading service provider in the water and wastewater industry for an experienced Design Engineer. This in an amazing opportunity for a highly-motivated individual to join their growing Engineering team.
The Design Engineer will be working throughout the Northern Area on a varied portfolio of clean and wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects from meter installations to pumping stations to treatment works.
As a Design Engineer your duties & responsibilities will include:
- Performing design activities associated with engineering projects (from investigation, design, commissioning and through to completion)
- Preparing and registering all relevant documentation, ensuring it is current, accurate and in compliance with the Client requirements.
- Completing Design Drawings, Schedules, Control Philosophy, Functional Design Specifications, Operation and Maintenance Manuals, Design Risk Assessments, RAMS and others as required.
- Working in collaboration with our commercial and operational departments to ensure timely and efficient MEICA procurement.
- Ensure compliance with all CDM, Health & Safety, and environmental issues concerning the development of sustainable solutions.
- Liaise with external agencies ensuring the investigation/design and construction phase runs smoothly.
- Assist in the production of reports/information to the Lead Designer, Design Manager and Project Managers including clients when requested
Skills and Experience:
- A background in Civil Engineering would be an advantage
- Prior experience with sewerage schemes and good knowledge of wastewater systems
- Have a good knowledge of water and waste water systems including associated MEICAT equipment
- Experience of using AutoCAD 2D / GIS Software
- Able to communicate effectively at all levels
- Ability to demonstrate an initiative to work on their own and as part of a team
- Understanding of network modelling software and application per client
