An exciting opportunity has arisen within a niche and growing market for a Electrical Maintenance Engineer.
Our Client, a well established manufacturing Company based in the Lancashire area.
Applicants will be working as part the Company Group and may be required to work at multiple sites in the local area.
Summary of Role:
Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will be responsible for meeting production needs in regards to engineering issues and breakdowns
To carry out routine test and inspection on electrical systems and portable electrical equipment
To reduce costs where possible and use the preventative maintenance system to reduce unplanned maintenance.
To assist the maintenance manager with projects and developments
To maintain maintenance activities in compliance with ISO 9001: 2000, ISO 14001 and other customer specific standards
Assist Engineering Manager with ongoing/new projects
Approximately 30% of this role will be mechanical and a flexible approach to overtime and shutdown work is required
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. To work safely within the company’s Health and Safety Procedures.
2. To work within the requirements and BS 7671 (Electrical Regulations)
3. Improve process efficiencies through elimination of downtime with the use of the PPM system and C.I.P. process
4. Carry out essential legislative testing of electrical equipment and system
5. To work as part of a team to optimise company performance and achieve targets
6. To identify and keep essential stock items at necessary working levels
7. To work with the maintenance manager in the identification of process improvements
A recognised electrical trade apprenticeship and other relevant qualifications with at least 3 years experience within a similar role are
A working knowledge of A.C and D.C. drives would be preferred as would the ability to work on P.L.C systems
Experience of ATEX equipment an advantage
Ideally you will be City & Guilds 236,2360, 2365 or 2330 Qualified
Also the below Qualifications and Skills would be an advantage;
City & Guilds 2391 (test and Inspection).
PLC experience (Siemens ideally)
CompEx would be desirable
Atex / hazardous area experience would be desirable
