- FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading service provider in the water and wastewater industry for an experienced Waste Water Design Engineer. This in an amazing opportunity for a highly-motivated individual to join their growing Waste Water Engineering team.
The successful candidate will be involved in the design and delivery of projects within the water sector across the North West and Wales. We are looking for an experienced Waste Water Engineer, capable of working independently leading projects, staff and delegating tasks to junior team members.
As a Waste Water Engineer your duties will be:
- Working alongside the Project Managers and Engineering Design team to deliver complex and non-complex projects across the frameworks.
- Completing reference designs, detailed designs and preparing reports.
- Producing Technical specifications and proposals for various projects.
- Working alongside and mentoring other members of the design team.
Essential Requirements :
- Strong technical knowledge and excellent communication skills.
- HNC/D, Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Ability to use AutoCAD 2D
- Working knowledge of Sewers for Adoption / OFWAT Design and Construction Guide
- Working knowledge of CESWI
- Ability to undertake gravity drainage calculations (pipe capacity, velocities etc)
- Ability to undertake rising main and pumping station calculations
- Previous working relationships with Statutory Undertakers (Environmental Agency, Internal Drainage Boards, Utility Providers, Local Government)
- Ability to manage resources for multiple complex sewerage projects whilst hitting programme and budgetary targets
- Working knowledge of CDM 2015
- Sound understanding of H&S risks associated with sewerage operation and construction
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience with modelling software (Micro-Drainage, Inforworks or other)
- Working knowledge of S185 (diversions) and S98 (requisition) of the Water Industries Act
- Experience working on SUDs schemes
- Member of CIWEM or ICE
- Experience of internal and external DG5 flood alleviation projects
- Experience working within the boundaries of EA consents
- Experience creating design and construction activity schedules
- Experience of trenchless installation techniques
