Plan for Jobs - Interview Tips
It was recently announced that pay rolled employees are now at a record high and redundancies at an all-time low.
The governments £400 billion Plan for Jobs scheme has protected our job market during the pandemic and has exceeded expectation.
From October – December 2021 employment records were 75.5% employed, with only 4.1% unemployed.
The Plan for Jobs Scheme was started during the pandemic with the following aims:

  • Support people in finding jobs
  • Enable them to gain skills to help their employability
  • Provide targeted help for young people to get into work
To address these challenges the government set out this large scale and ambitious plan, supported with new funding to ensure more people get tailored support in helping them to find work.

Finlay Jude work tirelessly to help people into work every day of the week.

We support clients in the overall recruitment process of identifying, sourcing, screening, shortlisting and prepping candidates for interview.

As a recruiter you do everything you can to prepare your candidate for their interview, but the end product can only come from the candidate themselves, and this comes down to how they present themselves during their interview.

So, we would like to share some positive tips on what to do during an interview:
  1.
  2. Arrive on Time – unless there is a good excuse and you have phoned ahead, you should never arrive late, make a journey plan the day before and if anything, turn up early.
  3.
  4. Research the company – never go into an interview without knowledge of the business you are hoping to work for, it can come across as uninterested.
  5.
  6. Dress Appropriately – while smart casual is the current trend, always ensure you turn up for an interview professionally dressed – socks and sliders are a definite NO.
  7.
  8. Speak well of your current employer – bad mouthing your current employer will only reflect badly on you, make sure you sound like a team player and not somebody that holds a grudge.
  9.
  10. Take a notebook and Pen – making notes will make you look organized and interested in the role
  11.
  12. Stay focused – always make sure you look interested, sit up straight, ask questions, and stay focused.

“Your fate is in your hands, not in the hands of your interviewer”
